Although we received the proofs from our photographer quite promptly, it took us until now to decided which ones we are going to order. I've scanned the pictures we want and posted them in a Photo Album. If you want to order some prints, please let us know ASAP.
Our photographer gave us a two month deadline to turn in our personal order for our photo album. Now with just a couple of days to go before the deadline, I've finally sat down to make some decisions. I started out with 95 pictures tagged and have managed to cull it down to 52. I was hoping to get it closer to 30, but I don't think I can do it. I'll set up a meeting with the the photographer for the end of the week and discuss our options for getting an album with nearly twice as many pictures as the book was designed to display. Tomorrow, we'll be scanning in our choices and posting them somewhere on this site...that way our friends and famiy can request prints if they are so moved.
I've finally started the thank you notes. I really like the ones we're sending out, but I wish it hadn't taken so long to get them. It would have been nice to have them done by now. I was able to do 12 over the long weekend. I figure if Step and I get our acts together and between us do 10 a night, we'll be done by this time next week. That's my current plan anyway (I haven't shared it with Stepan yet)...I can't wait to see how it goes!
We didn't register for the covered casserole that matches our china pattern, but I've decided we need it for Thanksgiving dinner. I went to Mikasa yesterday, but didn't get it because it might be on sale on Friday...I need to decide (and quickly) which is most important: having the casserole on Thursday or saving 25% on Friday...I hate making decisions!
I also went to the Pottery Barn to complete our registry there. I didn't get everything that remained on the list, but I did get the duvet cover and shams and the curtains and rods. Hopefully we'll have those up in time for our TG guests. The one item I splurged on was the faux fur throw which I used last night and which was wonderfully warm and cozy and worth every penny I paid for it. And despite the 10% registry completion discount and the 10% PB credit card discount and the various gift certificates and store credits I had, I did manage to spend quite a few pennies (big grin).
The Thank You Notes we have ordered have finally arrived so it will be back to the grind. Hopefully we'll start churning them out this coming weekend, but I'm not holding my breath. If we time them right, could we use them as Christmas cards, too?
